Hotel buffets always raise our expectations for unlimited food, and Kusina Sea Kitchen definitely reached that. Quality over quantity might be the best way to describe it as at first look, we got to see every station in one place, though those stations were all that we need. It’s a great day for lunch here at Hilton Manila.
Stations such as Panaderia, Palamig, Fresh Lumpia, and Talipapa, are the hallmark of Kusina Sea Kitchens. It’s nice seeing puto bumbong and espasol at the Panaderia. The roast beef at the International Cuisine station makes up the long lines at that end. We also got to have the best salmon sashimi we’ve tried so far. It’s a buttery melt-in-your mouth goodness. The vegetable dumpling at the Dumpling Station will make the stop worthwhile.
The seafood ‘Paluto’ station also deserves praise for its efficient order-taking and smooth processing. We just grabbed any seafood we want (that day, we had salmon head, crabs, mussles, and shrimps) and put in a bowl, filled out a form for the checklist of the desired ‘luto’. A coaster was given and once it lights up, our order’s up for picking. We actually appreciated how picturesque our order looked like. Quality plating wins even for buffet set up like this. Kudos!
In the middle of our meal, different types of Filipino dance took turn for everyone’s entertainment. It was enjoyable and a great scene to look at while indulging our puto bumbong and sorbetes. The lunch was very filling and satisfying at the same time. Our Filipino hearts are full, and we’ll definitely be back for that Salmon Sashimi.
