Tell us if we’re wrong, but we think that us, millennials, have been struggling to go on a healthy diet yet the effort we give is very minimal. Why? So many good foods! We’d say that we’d spent more money on gym subscriptions than give up those oh-so-good burgers, chicken nuggets, and pizza. Good thing Quorn boosted their efforts in promoting their products as a meat substitute without compromising the taste.
For a quick overview, Quorn (sorry guys, this is not from the word ‘corn’ – it’s actually a village in England) started with a man’s vision to solve the unseen problem of the food industry – Sustainability. The man discovered a microorganism and through several processes, developed mycoprotein which is the main ingredient for all Quorn products. This ingredient is very high in protein, low in saturated fat, good fiber content, and most especially, no cholesterol. Seriously, this is where we thank the brains and heart of people who wanted to do good, and let’s not forget how technology really helped in this revolution.
Quorn partnered with several restaurants to use Quorn products to come up with additions to their menu designed for the vegetarian and vegan community. The result: remarkable dishes we’d never have guessed it wasn’t meat! Banh Mi Kitchen now offer a meat-free Vietnamese sandwich, powered by Quorn.
Vegan Bahn Meal (P299) – crispy Quorn Vegan Fishless Fingers, drenched in a light curry sauce, topped with carrots and cilantro. The sting of cilantro is quite overwhelming so we took out half of it for the perfect medley of flavors. We’ve been to Vietnam and we must say, Banh Mi Kitchen’s The Classic is the closest to the authentic one. We’ve been ordering the same sandwich for so long. Now, we have found a new alternative.
Some of you might raise an eyebrow for this kind of option but for us, it’s actually fascinating. Quorn doesn’t feel any less than what we are actually having. Instead, it gives more and cares more. It can transform how people eat, not just focusing on eliminating the meat but endorsing healthy and clean eating as well. Most importantly, changing the world, one sustainable and delicious meal at a time. Read more about Quorn here.
Value for money: Price is doubled for this sandwich but it sure is worth it for those who really prefer the vegan option.
